Internal Funding for 1YR Program
A funding support package is not guaranteed, however there may be financial support in the form of Graduate Teaching Assistantships for some students.
Funding Support Package for 2YR Program
All full-time Master of Health Information Science students in good academic standing will receive a funding package of $12,000 a year for up to two years (six terms). This package is normally composed of one term of Teaching Assistantship, each year, and Western Graduate Research Scholarship which is allocated in lump sum each term, for both years. International students are eligible to apply, and will receive a funding package as part of their offer of admission, but only one seat is available in the fall 2026 international MHIS 2 year cohort.
*External funding sources such as OGS/CGRS-M may affect the amount you are awarded on a year-to-year basis.
