Why Give to FIMS?

Giving Opportunities
Gifts to the Fund help us provide our students with modern infrastructure, technology and equipment — ensuring students have access to an engaging learning experience.
Your donation to the FIMS Founders and Future Fund supports students in their journey in the Faculty of Information & Media Studies. Students are given the tools and training to analyze and critique media, understand complex information systems and find new ways to communicate.
Student success starts here. By giving to the Student Support Fund, you provide access to opportunities such as financial relief through awards, scholarships, and bursaries, as well as experiential learning and wellness initiatives — helping students in FIMS stay focused and achieve their goals. learning experience.
The Askunessippi Scholarship was established with a generous gift from an alumnus of the MLIS Class of 1992.
The gift provides an annual scholarship to help fund an entering student in the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program, with preference given to an Indigenous student (First Nations, Métis or Inuit). The Askunessippi Scholarship recognizes the importance of supporting Indigenous students, creating greater diversity of librarians, and better reflecting the communities who use public libraries and other information services.
Gifts to the Master of Media in Journalism & Communication Fund help us support students through hands-on learning experiences — providing funding for internships, financial aid and access to the equipment needed to tell compelling stories across platforms.
