MIT 3438F/G   Special Topics in MIT: Journalism and Popular Culture

Course Description
This course examines constructions of journalism in popular culture. It explores how, why, and through what means reporters appear in comics, films, music, and television. Students will interrogate the implications of popular representations for practicing journalists while probing concepts of accuracy, bias, democracy, and truth in North America.
