MIT 256G (Winter 2008)   The Next Generation Web

Course Description
This course will use theories from a variety of disciplines to analyze emerging trends on the World Wide Web, including: the shift from static to dynamic Web pages; the growth of multimedia; the rise of integrated Web portals; changing methods of file sharing systems; new search engine ranking systems; Web 2.0 systems such as social software, wikis, folksonomies and RSS feeds.
