Thomas taught “Journalism, Human Rights and International Development” in the MAJ program.

Profile

Thomas has taught previously in the MAJ program and in the Journalism program at WLU. Over a span of two almost two decades, from 1988 to 2007, Thomas was variously a Senior Foreign Affairs Producer, Project Manager, and Senior Producer at CBC National Radio News and Current Affairs. He was the 2006 recipient of the Amnesty International Human Rights English Media Award, and he was awarded a Knight Fellowship in Law for Journalists and a Yale Law School Fellowship in 2000.  Thomas Rose’s academic research has been in the area of journalism and human rights, including the history of media development projects in West Africa, and his research has appeared in the Encyclopaedia of Human Rights (Oxford UP) and the Yale Journal of International Law.
