The doctoral program in Health Information Science (HIS) will provide students with fundamental knowledge in health and healthcare, including public health, health policy, and clinical health care, combined with expertise in knowledge organization and management, knowledge translation, patient and professional information seeking behaviour, and information ethics and policy.

Scholarly expertise across two faculties
As a joint program shared by two faculties, Health Information Science has the unique ability to draw on research expertise from both the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Information & Media Studies.
