The innovative 12-month Master of Health Information Science (MHIS) course-based degree prepares graduates for in-demand careers in health information technology environments. It is a joint program, offered collaboratively by FIMS and the Faculty of Health Science, and draws on expertise from both faculties. Students will gain the skills to critically and holistically examine aspects of health policy, practice, structure, research, finance, and societal and cultural factors within the Canadian health care landscape, applying those skills to transforming health information science.

The MHIS course-based degree is designed for students who do not intend to pursue doctoral studies. If you're interested in academic research beyond the master's level, check out our two-year MHIS research-based option.
