All full-time MA students in good academic standing at FIMS will be offered a minimum funding package of $12,250 for the year of registration. A typical funding package consists of a Graduate Teaching Assistantship (involving up to 10 hours of work a week) for the fall and winter terms of the first year. Funding is guaranteed pending continuous full-time enrolment, maintenance of a minimum average of 78%, meeting the required progression benchmarks and successfully performing TA duties. Terms of registration beyond the first year will not be funded.
The funding package is designed to cover a substantial portion of a student's expenses for the eligible period of funding in his/her program. Funding is not provided in the summer term, so students will need to be prepared to pay tuition and living expenses for the summer.

- Funding support packages can be comprised of funds from a variety of sources and can differ from student to student. Funding sources might include scholarships, graduate fellowships, and part-time employment such as graduate teaching assistantships or graduate student assistantships.
You can also explore the following resources:
- Bursaries and other funding through the Society of Graduate Students (SOGS)
- The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (SGPS) maintains a list internal and external funding sources. This includes loans, scholarships, grants, bursaries and workstudy programs
Full-time international master's students will receive additional funds to partially offset the international tuition and ancillary fees for the expected duration of the program (1 year). Our funding package for international students does not provide additional support to help defray living expenses while enrolled in the program. International students are expected to cover living expenses and other costs from their own resources.
