Graduate Programs

The graduate programs at FIMS are very diverse in nature and scope.  In the thesis-based degrees--the Media Studies MA and PhD, the Library and Information Studies PhD and the Popular Music and Culture MA,--students receive training in high level scholarship from faculty with international research reputations. The professional graduate programs, the Master of Library and Information Science Program and the Master of Arts in Journalism, combine intellectual inquiry with preparation for specific career paths, and are taught by instructors with both academic and professional backgrounds. In all cases, however, the graduate degrees are designed to offer students a wide range of choice and a variety of possible specializations within the framework of a careful designed program.
