Course Description

MIT 3653F/G   Special Topics in MIT: The Mediation of Music Through Sound Recording

Course Description
This course encourages students to appreciate, critique, and analyze the often poorly recognized field of "audio art." Students will learn to trace the complex processes of mediation through which live music is translated into recorded music and to consider the creative, ideological, and financial motives that impinge upon these deceptively "impartial" processes.
