Course Description

MIT 3436F/G   Special Topics in MIT: The Real Things

Course Description
This course will allow students to critically examine two concepts central to the histories of both Western popular culture and medium theory: authenticity and performance.  Connections will be drawn across a range of texts and media; we will explore the ways in which various singers, folklorists, psychedelics, actors, and thinkers have explored the question of what it means to be “real.”

This course is no longer active. Please contact FIMS Undergraduate Student Services, fims@uwo.ca, for more information.
