Course Description
This course will examine the history of SFTV from its origins to today by examining representative episodes from key series as “fantastic dialogues” about major social, political and philosophical issues. It will be divided into three “movements”: Classic SFTV (The Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation), Paranoid SFTV (The X-Files, Battlestar Galatica, Orphan Black, Black Mirror, Westworld), and Voyagers (Sliders, Stargate SG1, Firefly, Doctor Who).
