MIT 2660A/B   Special Topics in MIT: Introduction to Video Production, Theory and Practice

Course Description
Introductory course to digital video production that will engage students in the production, history and theories of moving images. Through the integration of lectures, screenings and studio assignments, students will obtain the necessary critical and technical skills to produce short, creative digital video projects. The course explores video as popular culture, political discourse and as an art form.

Through workshops and studio assignments students will develop basic skills in working with cameras, composition, lighting, audio recording, and editing while becoming familiar with video's unique technical and aesthetic qualities. Course work includes the production of both group and individual assignments.
