Course Description

MIT 3445A/B   Sound in Media: Audio Production in Radio, Film & Television

Course Description
Audio Recording and Production takes a practical approach to learning sound recording with an emphasis on recording and audio production. Students will learn both the history and practice of recording. Lab time will primarily be used for the capturing of audio sources rather than the editing and mixing of audio (though editing and mixing will have a smaller component to the course). Lecture will include the listening and analysis of the most influential sound recordings from history with explanations and demonstrations of the methods by which the sound was achieved.
