MIT 3405F-001 (Fall 2019)   Special Topics in MIT: Insta-influencers, fembots and on-demand nannies: Gendering platform capitalism

Course Description
This course interrogates the gender dimensions of work in platform capitalism. What role does gender play in the distribution of wealth and power in the digital media economy? How do gender discourses inform how we think about different forms of work and their appropriate subjects? And, in what ways do shifts in technology and work's organization reproduce, disrupt, or intensify gender-based inequities?
