Course Description

FIMS 9327 (Winter 2020)   Special Topic: Podcasts and Perspective

Course Description
This seminar will investigate how audio storytelling can tackle complex social issues. We will listen and think critically to the ways in which podcasts use narrative storytelling to explore complex social issues. In an age of audience fragmentation, how do investigative podcasts re-frame the way we see society’s most pernicious problems? In what ways can journalism be fused with emotion and narrative arc?
