About Me

As an academic, I am interested in the ways that women form community around their gender identity. My current research looks specifically at how gender discourse in the subreddit r/FemaleDatingStrategy reiterates conservative notions of femininity and contributes to transphobia on Reddit. I have recently completed my fields exam and will submit my dissertation proposal in December 2023, under Dr. Susan Knabe's supervision. In addition to my own research, I am currently working as a research assistant under Dr. Jacqueline Burkell.
