  • Wide interests include social & political theory, Continental thought, the philosophy of technology, pop culture, music (Renaissance court music, folk, punk, Canadian post-rock), art & aesthetics, history and science fiction.
  • Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Waterloo in 1998.
  • Publications: Structural Idealism, 2002; Philosophy: A New Introduction (with G. E. Dann), Wadsworth Press, 2005; Understanding Society: A Survey of Modern Social Theory, Oxford University Press, 2008 (Second Edition due in 2010), plus 43 academic articles and 41 newspaper articles.
