Avery Page (she/her) is a PhD Candidate in Media Studies, in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies. Her current research surrounds the representation of Jewish women on American sitcoms with a focus on production processes and the experiences of television industry workers.
Her primary research interests include television production studies, the history of television, gender studies, and the intersectionality of Jewish identity .
She also has experience in researching comedy, screenwriting, and entrepreneurship in the entertainment industries.
Avery holds an M.A. from Syracuse University (Television, Radio and Film), and an Honours B.A. from the University of Western Ontario (Media, Information, and Technoculture). To her research, Avery brings professional experience in television development and production, in both scripted and factual content. Prior to the pandemic, she also performed stand-up comedy Toronto.
