Student Librarian's Association for Children and Youth Services (SLACYS)
Western University Chapter
The Student Librarian's Association for Children and Youth Services (SLACYS) is a student group focusing on professional development workshops, seminars, and exercises for LIS students interested in working with children or young adults.
SLACYS seeks to support innovation and collaborative dialogue between librarians in children and youth services. To expand the practical skill-sets of future practitioners, encouraging the future development of children and youth services in public and school libraries. To promote the thoughtful consideration of child and youth services, and the expansion of those services to all areas of literacy and numeracy, to offer well-rounded support to the development of future generations.
SLACYS meets every other week, Thursdays at 5:15 p.m.
