If statistics are anything to go by, chances are you know someone who has diabetes. Around two million Canadians live with the disease. By 2015, that  number is expected to hit 3 million. We all know the devastating effects it can have on someone’s health – especially if it goes untreated. But if it strikes while you’re working, diabetes can affect your career, your income, and the life you’re able to lead. Sara Beck talks to people whose working lives have been affected by diabetes and what they’re doing about it.

The Coming of  Angels

In 2005, Toronto hit its highest gun homicide rate ever, which set the stage for the return of the Guardian Angels.

 

The Angels are a civilian anti-crime and anti-gang group formed in New York in 1979, but they’ve never been welcomed in Toronto.

Gay Marriage in Rural Ontario
