chantal
cory
Chantal began her broadcast career at the tender age of
six. Mimicking Pam Wallin on long road trips from her Northern
Ontario hometown, she loved to pass her time commentating
on her family. At a recent internship with CTV, she covered
a wide variety of issues from the extradition trial of an
alleged terrorist to the growing concern over child pornography
in this country.

Though
she’s always talking, Nana is only now
realizing the power of words. After mentioning a
desire to work in her home country, the die-hard
Toronto kid found herself in Ghana reporting about
jammed buses and good-smelling toilets during
her internship. She’s going back for a year to see
if she can really do the overseas reporting thing.
Hopefully, she’ll come back.

janson
Katherine
grew up in the Nation's Capital, where she fostered a love
for bitterly cold bus stops and all things Canadian. She loves
the deep, calm lakes of Northern Ontario and the orange glow
of an autumn late-afternoon sun. She wakes up to CBC on her
clock radio every morning, and sometimes finds it hard to
figure out what's real and what's been woven into her dreams.

christina
mckenzie
After
realizing that she didn't want to spend the rest of her life
chalking a classroom board,
Christina decided to do a fifth and final year at Western.
Journalism reeled her in because of
her need to tell stories to anyone at any time and about anything.
When Christina isn't on campus or gathering interviews, you
can find her enjoying a brewsky (her summer in Ireland fostered
this love), at the beach (but only in summer time) or at the
sports clinic having casts put on her right arm (she's a klutz).

tracy moniz
During
her time at Western, Tracy discovered her passion for the
airwaves. Now specializing in radio, Tracy especially enjoys
producing short features and entertainment pieces. But what
she most likes about journalism is meeting new people everyday.
When she takes her journalist's cap off, Tracy loves to travel.

Travels
to Cuba, Morocco and France have cultivated this Calgarian's
insight into history, politics and culture. Seldom at a loss
for words, Zulekha Nathoo has interned at the London Free
Press and will be working at CBC Newsworld this summer. Since
entering the world of journalism, she has discovered what
she already believed was true entertainment and fashion
are really what make the world go round.

elizabeth
yachetti
Although
her undergraduate degree in Media, Information & Technoculture
taught her to be
highly critical of journalists, Elizabeth decided she wanted
to be one anyway. After a year off
to do some backpacking in Europe and working to save some
money, she headed back to Western where she developed a passion
for radio. Her love for both reading and travelling should
come in handy in her future career which ideally would be
reviewing luxury spas.
