Bursaries and Need-Based Awards
Bursaries and need-based awards are available to students who demonstrate financial need. To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident. Online applications are available from Student Financial Services each year in August. For more information, please consult Student Financial Services: Financial Need-Based Programs.
Scholarships & Awards
Scholarships and awards are established and funded by individual donors, corporations, Faculties, Departments, and the governing body of The University of Western Ontario. Scholarships and awards are awarded in the Fall of each year based on the student's previous academic performance and current registration. The awards are taxable income and students are issued T4A's in February for the previous taxation year. Work Study
Hundreds of on-campus employment opportunities are available each year through Work Study to allow upper-year students to work in flexible environments, gain experience, and contribute financially to their education-related expenses. To qualify for the Work Study program, you must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident enrolled in at least a 60 per cent course load, and you must demonstrate financial need. OSAP and Other Government Loan Information
The University of Western Ontario and Student Financial Services are committed to helping you achieve your academic goals regardless of your personal financial circumstances.
