Funding for Non-Canadian Students

Funding for Non-Canadian Students

International doctoral students who meet the minimum funding average will receive the standard funding package plus additional funds through the Western Graduate Research Scholarship (WGRS). These additional funds are intended to reduce tuition normally assessed to international students to the rate paid by Canadian students.

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan
Under a plan drawn up at a conference in Oxford in 1959, each participating country of the Commonwealth offers a number of scholarships to students from other Commonwealth countries. These scholarships are mainly for graduate study and are tenable in the country making the offer. Awards are normally for two years and cover traveling, tuition fees, other university fees, and a living allowance.

Details are available from the relevant government office in the applicant's own country or the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Committee. For a list of Canadian and International agencies visit http://www.csfp-online.org/index.html
