Whether you are contemplating co-op or are planning your entry into the world of librarianship post-graduation, a great way to demonstrate your interest in the profession is by joining a library association. By signing up during your time as a student, you can join the SLA for the low price of $40 USD (a substantial discount from the regular membership rate of $200).
Why SLA?
- Many positions in the MLIS co-op program are in government or corporate libraries – both of these fall under the designation of special libraries.
- A career in special libraries provides the opportunity to combine your MLIS with any previous training and areas of interest or expertise.
