Our Mission Statement: To promote the field of special librarianship to the students of the Faculty of Information and Media Studies and interested individuals.
By establishing ties with local professionals, other SLA Student Groups, SLA Chapters and the SLA, we can draw upon and contribute to the resources, expertise and creativity to increase awareness of special librarianship. This increase in awareness will hopefully produce a higher level of appreciation and contribution to this field thus ultimately leading to future developments in special librarianship.
A major goal for the group is to better equip students for finding, preparing for and attaining jobs in special libraries.
