What is the Special Libraries Association?

The Special Libraries Association (SLA) is an organization that is comprised of special librarians from such diverse areas as corporations, private businesses, government agencies, museums, colleges, hospitals, associations and information management consulting firms. SLA helps to provide a way for all of these individuals to communicate with one another and to share knowledge with one another.

SLA provides a number of forums for librarians to exchange information with one another, including a number of list-servs that are sponsored by each chapter and division in the organization.
