One Book One London

Students reading novel

The Book:

Etta and Otto and Russell and James
By Emma Hooper

The Initiatve:

London Public Library recently announced 'One Book, One London', an initiative designed to "encourage and celebrate reading one book together as a community". This new reading program has been introduced during Canada's 150th celebration year and features a Canadian title: Etta and Otto and Russell and James by Emma Hooper.

We are working together to connect our Western community with the London community through some fun 'One Book, One London' activities. Over the next few weeks, 150 copies of Etta and Otto and Russell and James will be given away to students, faculty and staff on campus. Those lucky recipients of the book will be encouraged to read it, love it, and pass it on.

For the FIMS community, the FIMS Graduate Library has five copies of the book available to borrow for a 7-day loan.

The book is also available to borrow through the London Public Library in various formats.

Borrow the book, read the book, tell us what you think about the book and share your #bookselfie by tweeting #1Book1Ldn to @westernuFIMS.

Events & Activities

Other organizations in London have also partnered with the library on this initiative. Western Libraries and FIMS will be planning some events throughout the year, as will other partnering organizations. To keep track of activities, visit the London Public Libraries One Book, One London events page.
