MLIS Student Council

MLIS students have their own Student Council, the officers for which are elected each term. The officers meet regularly with the administration and faculty, and one takes part in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies Council meetings as a voting member. The Student Council is responsible for planning social events and for representing the MLIS student body throughout the University. Students are encouraged to participate actively in the academic development of the Faculty of Information and Media Studies by serving on committees of the Council and by proposing changes in the program through their representatives on the Student Council.

Current students are invited to visit the MLIS SC Intranet site.  (FIMS users only; username and password required.)

Librarians Without Borders

Librarians Without Borders (LWB) is an organization founded in February 2005 at the Faculty of Information and Media Studies (FIMS) at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON, Canada. LWB is composed of Master of Library and Information Science students, as well as FIMS faculty and students from other university departments.  For information on the student committee at Western, visit http://org.fims.uwo.ca/lwb/.

UWO Society of Graduate Students

All students are members of Western's Society of Graduate Students (SOGS), which has represented the interests and concerns of both part-and full-time graduate students at UWO for more than 35 years, making it one of the oldest autonomous graduate student organizations in Canada. The student body is represented on the Executive of the Society.
