This class is for all levels of practitioners, whether doing yoga for the first time or for many years.  We will be doing yoga postures (asana) in coordination with breathing, often in gentle ways but moving up to moderate levels of exertion.  The emphasis will be on developing greater calm, relaxed focus, and body awareness.  Each class ends with a lying down relaxation period.  If you have a yoga mat, please bring one. The yoga class will be available every Tuesday between May 17 and August 9.

If you'd like to be added to the fimsyoga@uwo.ca listserv for class updates and news, please contact Ajit Pyati: apyati@uwo.ca

News & Announcements

Reminder to complete the new WHMIS training – All Western employees
Canada is adopting new international standards - the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). Changes include a move from Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and a new labelling system. The new system is called WHMIS 2015 and will replace WHMIS 1998. WHMIS 2015 is currently being phased in and must be fully in place by December 2018. The government requires that workers be trained on both the old and new WHMIS during this transition period while both systems are present in the workplace.

All staff, faculty, graduate students, work study and co-op students and volunteers at Western must receive training in WHMIS 2015 now and so will be required to take the new version by August 31, 2016. Legislation makes this new training mandatory, even if an individual's WHMIS training has not expired. Access the training module at http://www.uwo.ca/hr/learning/required/index.html
