News & Announcements

Welcome to new FIMS staff members
There are three new faces in NCB as the summer term winds down.  Paul Buckley-Golder was hired on in the position of Media Production Specialist, and will be taking on some of the responsibilities handled by Wendie Crouch before she retired.  Ann Seabrook is on board as an Admin Assistant to cover Lili Dang's position while she is on leave.  Katherine Fletcher has also been hired as a part-time Communications Assistant and will be with FIMS until the end of November.

Changes coming to Western Graphic Services Walk-Up Photocopying
Western Graphic Services has announced that they will be ceasing their pay-as-you-go, walk-up photocopying service as of August 31.  This means that all money currently loaded onto your copy cards must be used by August 31, as it is not refundable.  FIMS Computing Services is exploring future options for the FIMS community and there will be more information to come on this issue.

IGSIC & WCC Drive for Household Items for International Students
From July 27 to August 27, SOGS is collecting household family items and children's toys to donate to the Platt's Lane community to support our international student population and our students with families. Are you moving out and have a few items you no longer need? A blender? A snow shovel? Toaster? Drop off these items to the SGPS office between July 27 - August 27.

AND we are encouraging all faculty councils to start their own collections because...the faculty council that donates the most number of items will be getting a great prize.  See Facebook page for more info.

Heading home for the break? Off to a new job? Looking for something to read while you’re away?  Why not snag one of our books for some pleasure reading? In support of student and staff pleasure reading, and with the guiding democratic principles at the root of library services, we strive to engage in a book swap. Bring in a book for exchange! Or just borrow one of ours - you don't have to return it, just pass it on. Tell your friends! And enjoy reading again!

See Lockers 147 and 148 for a good read (across from the Journalism Studios).
