Student Council Mission Statement:
The Mission of the MLIS Student Council is to enhance the educational experience and quality of life of the MLIS student body by:
1) Maintaining responsible student government in order to represent the academic, social, and professional concerns of all MLIS students, whether their student status be full-time, part-time, or co-op.
2) Acting as the representative of MLIS students in all issues affecting students, giving them a recognized organization through which they may express their needs and their opinions.
3) Acting as a liaison among MLIS students, FIMS and the UWO community.
4) Ensuring students are represented at the Society of Graduate Students (SOGS) and disseminating information dealing with SOGS and FIMS policy decisions that impact directly on students
Responsibilities:
- Presence at Orientation
- First-term Q&A session
- Assistance with FIMS Mixer
- Mid-Term and/or End-of-Term Party
- Mid-Term Feedback Sessions
- Fundraising activities
- Spirit of Librarianship
