FIMS Undergraduate Student Fund

Donations collected through this fund will enhance the operation of the MIT Student Council (MITSC) through funding of exciting projects, services and events for FIMS undergraduate students. FIMS students* automatically pay $50 with their tuition and are made aware of this charge in their fee schedules. A donation receipt will be available on Student Center at the end of February.

*Note: MTP Students in Years 2 and 4, part-time students, and students registered at an Affiliated University College do not pay the student donation.

Applications for Funding

Equipment, scholarships, software, and career events are examples of ways to spend this donation money.

Any member of the Faculty of Information and Media Studies, including students, staff, and faculty, may submit a request for funding by submitting an application via the FIMS Undergraduate Student Fund Proposal Form. Submissions are reviewed by a committee that meets twice a year and is chaired by the President of the MIT Student Council. Composition of the committee includes four undergraduate student representatives, two representatives from the Dean's Office, and the Associate Dean.

Deadline: Applications are due by October 15 or January 30 or March 15
