General Information
A Letter of Permission is a document that allows you to enrol in one or more courses at another university as a visiting student. Upon completion, those credits will be transferred to your academic record and applied to your degree at Western.
Letters of Permission are not automatic. You must be approved by an Academic Counsellor in FIMS and receive permission to take courses at another accredited university. The Faculty will determine your eligibility based on your overall academic record and the appropriateness of the course(s) to your degree at Western. Letters of Permission are not granted on a retroactive basis. If you take a course without an approved Letter of Permission, you may be required to apply for readmission to Western.
Eligibility
- You must be in good academic standing at Western. Students on probation are not eligible.
- You must have completed at least 4.0 courses at Western and have an average of at least 60%. If you are in first year, you may be asked to verify your term marks.
- Special Students (students with degrees) are not eligible.
Note: You may take no more than 5.0 courses on a Letter of Permission during your university career.
