Appealing an Adjudication Decision (i.e. a decision on program eligibility and progression)

If you have been deemed ineligible to continue in the MIT module you requested or have been required to withdraw from Western, you may appeal the decision by submitting a request for a waiver of the admission/progression requirements.

Please note that MIT is a limited enrolment program and the Faculty of Information and Media Studies finalizes its admissions decisions after the completion of a first-year program.

Normally, the only grounds for granting conditional admission or progression in an undergraduate program in FIMS is documented evidence that you experienced extenuating circumstances during the academic year that were outside of your control. These circumstances could have been medical, family problems, legal, etc., and your petition must be supported by appropriate documentation.

If you have been required to withdraw from Western or feel that you have documented grounds to request a waiver of the admission/progression requirements for an MIT module, please complete a hard copy of the Admission/Progression Waiver Form (pdf).

The deadline to request an Admission/Progression Waiver is June 30.

The Waiver form and all supporting documentation must be received in the Office of the Associate Dean by the deadline date.
