Cate Carlyle (MLIS ’10) had an article published in the Canadian Library Association Journal, Feliciter.

“Practicalities: Serving English as a Second Language Library Users”

The article provides practical advice for serving English as a Second Language (ESL) library users gleaned from my work at the TESL Centre Library, Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Cate also co-presented a session on “Effective Advocacy” at the Atlantic Provinces Library Association Annual Conference at the University of PEI on May 15th.

Matthew Griffis (PhD LIS ’12), has accepted a tenure track position at the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. Matt will be teaching courses in the MLIS distance program and will be continuing his research into the public library as place. He starts August 1st.

Michael Daubs (PhD Media Studies ‘11) has taken a Lecturer position in Media Studies at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. He began his new job in February.
