About the fellowship
The William C. Heine International Study Fellowships are awarded to two full-time undergraduate students entering Year 3 in the Media, Information and Technoculture program (including modules in Media and the Public Interest) who will be studying in a country other than Canada for a time of no less than one term. Preference will be given to students who will be studying in a third world country.
Recipients will be selected based on their submission of information to the Associate Dean and a minimum 75% academic average.
Award recipients will be selected by a scholarship review committee, which includes, at minimum, an Undergraduate Academic Counsellor and the Associate Dean from FIMS.
The fellowship will be awarded in March of each year and will be used to defray travel, accommodation and personal living expenses while abroad for a minimum of one academic term.
The fellowship was established through Foundation Western by a bequest from William C. Heine (BA '49).
