Applications are now being accepted for the William C. Heine International Study Fellowships.
There are two Fellowships available valued at $3,500 each. The William C. Heine MIT Exchange Fellowship is awarded to two undergraduate students entering Year 3 in the Media, Information and Technoculture program (including modules in Media and the Public Interest) who will be studying in a country other than Canada for a time of no less than a term. Preference will be given to students who will be studying in a third world country. Applicants must have been selected to participate in a formal exchange or have made arrangements to participate in an MPI International Internship next year.
Recipients will be selected based on the submission of a letter of application, including a detailed budget, and academic achievement (minimum cumulative average of 75%). This information should be submitted to the FIMS Dean's Office Att: FIMS Undergraduate Scholarship Committee.
The letter of application should include the following:
- Last Name, First Name, Address, School e-mail address, Program of Study, Confirmation that you are entering Year 3 of your program and that you have completed an Intent to Register form for the academic year.
- A detailed description of your plans for next year. Are you going on Exchange, Letter or Permission, or MPI Internship? (Include your destination, length of time abroad, what this experience means to you)
- A detailed budget for next year, including the name and amount of any scholarships/bursaries you anticipate receiving next year.
Award recipients will be selected by a scholarship review committee, which includes, at minimum, an Academic Counsellor and the Associate Dean from the Undergraduate Program in FIMS. The Fellowship will be used to defray travel, accommodation and personal living expenses while abroad for a minimum of one academic term.
