Thesis Progression Milestones:
Part-Time

Students who are not meeting progression milestones may risk funding, may not be allowed to proceed into second year, or may be required to withdraw from the program. In particular, students must pay close attention to the milestones related to the thesis proposal.

Students without an approved thesis proposal by June 15 of Year 2 will be placed in the Major Research Paper option.

Students without an approved proposal by June 15 will automatically be placed in the Major Research Paper option. Upon approval of the Thesis Proposal it will be recorded that the student has completed MS 9103.

It is the joint responsibility of the student and Advisory Committee to determine appropriate deadlines so that there is sufficient time for the student to receive feedback and make revisions, and so that the student’s work can be received and reviewed by Committee members in a timely fashion.
